This module is composed of a series of lectures and seminars discussing both well-established and emerging issues and key priorities in the field global public health. The lectures aim to develop student awareness and deepen their knowledge about the principles of global public health. These include but may not be limited to the following topics: health determinants; disease burden; disease prevention; the effect of environmental, socioeconomic and socio-behavioral factors; women’s health; youth and elderly health; communicable and non-communicable diseases; ethical considerations; and intervention methods to improve outcomes on key global public health issues. The seminars series will discuss real-world scenarios, providing students an opportunity to be actively engaged in discussing, critical thinking and problem-solving current global public health concerns.
