This module is for Level 3 undergraduates in Biological Sciences and aims for students to understand how gene expression of eukaryotes is regulated with the different mechanisms, for example, in response to the changes of environment. It will explain how eukaryotes control the gene expression at the different steps in a regulatory network by focusing on both model and non-model organisms. In addition, it will introduce the current techniques used for a large scale analysis of whole genome to open up a new era of Molecular Biology. It will also provide an opportunity to use and apply these techniques to examine the several specific features of genomic DNA as well as protein sequences.
